A month has passed since my old PC died so I seldom went online. It was frustrating because a lot of things happened and I can barely remember them now. Only fragments of memories remain within — awaiting salvation. LoL!
Meiko's Pink Birthday~
Claribelle and I celebrated our birthdays together with the rest of the barkada. As usual, I am the only one in a dress and they were wearing jeans! Toni showed us a restaurant showcasing all sorts of Coca-cola memorabilia, which has been aptly named “The Real Thing Diner“. Their main color is red with a splash of white in between. The shelves beside the main entrance are donned with mugs, stuffed toys, bottles, and other trinkets. Another shelf is located atop the windowpane which is decorated with soda cans of varying designs. There is also a wide-screen TV playing Coke commercials dating back from the 80’s! How’s the food? Well, definitely not the best among the lot but the taste is just right. Another cool thing is that this is the one-and-only restaurant serving Royal True-Orange floats(AFAIK)! I felt so bad that I left Epiphany at home (darn rain)!!!
I’m very happy because we got to spend our anniversary for many days — all thanks to the flexibility of our schedules (sort of).
Dada and I had din-din in The Old Spaghetti House, an Italian restaurant located at the third floor of Robinson’s Galleria. We’ve been planning this for many weeks but we keep forgetting. LoL! The ambiance is very homey and the plate presentation was also nice. However, the dining experience wasn’t all good since the food tasted so-so yet they’re very expensive. We ordered pizza, nachos and spaghetti with meatballs. Of all those, I only liked the nachos. I guess we won’t be returning here anytime soon.

I went to Dada’s place so we can spend quality time together. They have a new puppy named “Almond” which was a gift from his cousin. It’s Almond’s second day in their house and he’s still not used to the place. He has been very attached to Dada as if he’s his mommy! He’d follow Dada wherever he goes and would cry if he loses sight of him. They look sooooo cute! We left Almond in Vrian’s care while we went to Festival Mall.
For many weeks, Dada had been so persistent on reviving my PSP — which I have long thought to be bricked. Dada surprisingly managed to get it going again but some of the buttons were no longer functioning. Dada took it to a shop in Festi and shouldered half of the cost of repairs. He said that that’s his anniversary gift for me. Aaawww~~~
We had din-din in Teriyaki Boy and he shouldered the expenses too. Apart from the salty Yakimeshi rice, all else tasted good.

Dada and I went to our usual tambayan and stayed there for many hours. Patapon 3 ate up most of our time. Dada used his archer while I used my black mage. The stigma of ranged attackers is “We kill fast or we die fast.” That’s what happened most of the time. LoL! There’s this one quest that took us probably an hour to finish due to its difficulty. It was frustrating and fun at the same time. It’s been so long since I last played games that I almost forgot what the feeling was like. *sigh*
It is Chili‘s Big Mouth Burger Day! My friends and I went to Greenbelt hoping we could grab a bite but we were sooooo unfortunate as there were plenty of people lined up outside the restaurant. Most of them have already booked prior to the event and the wait time reached about an hour and a half.
We decided to cancel our original plan and just head off to one of our favorite restaurants — Heaven & Eggs.
Their service that night was much better than our previous experiences and I think that’s because the manager (or whatever you call him) was there to watch over.
I ordered their Korean Beef Stew but it’s quite tart so I wasn’t able to consume everything. I guess I really have no liking for Korean food other than those from 88 Spa.
Anyway, their presentation is still remarkable and the Manila Spareribs 1965 is still one of their best dishes. ☜(⌒▽⌒)☞
Dad’s leaving for Saudi Arabia tomorrow morning so he treated us din-din in our favorite family restaurant – Tokyo Café. Last time I was there was during my birthday celebration and I miss their mouth-watering Demi Hamburg. ☺
It’s a good thing that not too many people were dining tonight so we were able to get good seats as soon as we got there. This is Lola’s and Tita’s first time eating in a fancy restaurant so we had to help them choose what to order and explain their contents. It’s a good thing they enjoyed every bite of those delicious meals. I also got to test macro shots using the OLYMPUS FE-4000 that dad gave me. ☺
I really love corn soups ♥
Mom and dad shared this viand.
♥ Mouth-watering Demi Hamburg ♥
I’m just testing macro shots using my new P&S. LoL!
Mom chose this meal for lola while jokingly saying “because you’re a ‘pobre'” … IKR? So mean … LoL!
Today is Dada’s birthday so he asked me to pick a place where we can have din-din. It’s his treat and he agreed that we can go fancy tonight. Some of the choices I had were Saisaki and Okuya. Unfortunately, Saisaki’s on the far end of SM Megamall and Okuya turned out to be a stall in the food court (Dada dislikes crowded areas). The only other choice I could think of was Sushi-Ya. Their service is good and the prices are affordable.
Last time I stepped foot in Sushi-Ya was seven years ago. This is the first ever Japanese restaurant I went to but today is only my second time dining in. Why? Let’s just say that there are some events in the past that are best untold. ☻
☻ tonkatsu curry ☻
We ordered California Maki, Tamago Sushi, Tonkatsu Curry and Kakiage. They all look delicious but I guess we expected too much. I liked the California Maki and the Tamago Sushi. The curry, on the other hand, is yummy but there’s so much going on so I only had a few bites and I got fed up already. The kakiage is very bland. Dada said it’s like 80% potato and only 20% for the other vegetables. It’s much worse than the one in Teriyaki Boy.
We finished our meals in less than 20 minutes. We didn’t enjoy the food that much so I don’t think there will be a reason for us to return here.
The first and the last time I ate in Yoshinoya was during its opening day in SM Megamall many years ago. I didn’t like their meals one bit so I vowed never to return — EVER!
Then comes Dada suggesting we have dinner there! >.<
He said he recently had lunch there with his friends and he liked it. Dada is really good at convincing me to do some things that I really do not like doing and he’s taking advantage of it … Blergh!
We headed to their Robinson’s Galleria branch after our shift. What surprised me is that although this is generally a Japanese food joint, they serve kimchi and pork dumplings. LoL!
We ordered the Jumbo Plate (Gyudon + Ebi Tempura combo), Sio Mai, Green Tea, Red Tea, and Strawberry Mousse. Although they advertised the Jumbo Plate as “good for two” it just wasn’t enough for the both of us. The serving was too small to be called “jumbo” and the shrimps were so tiny! It’s a good thing that the Gyudon, Tempura and the sauce that came with the meal were tasty. The Sio Mai were okay. I didn’t like their Strawberry Mousse.
Overall, it was an okay dining experience. I know now what and what not to order in case we decide to come back.
