9th Anniversary of Philippine Ragnarok Online ! ! !

My little sister and I were very visible since we’re on the front row. ANG SAYAAAA!!!

I thought that we were unfortunate because we failed to acquire premium passes for Cosmania 2012. As it turned out, it was actually a blessing-in-disguise!

The 9th Anniversary of Philippine Ragnarok Online fell on the same date as Cosmania’s. Level Up Games announced that KAMIKAZEE would be performing too so I knew that I SHOULD NOT MISS IT!

I am so glad that I did what my gut told me to do. I did not regret every single second (and cent) I spent on this event!!!

Best of Animé 2011 [Day 2] . . .

I only visit conventions once in a while and I have to have a good reason before doing such.

My original plan was to meetup with a cosplay-buddy to get my commissioned items but since he had personal things to take care of then our meetup was cancelled. Still, I decided to go because I also promised my little sister that I would accompany her in looking for the manga  that she wanted. I also thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to search for Gothic pendants which are very elusive in regular stores.

MOA is a relatively large place and I don’t frequently go there so I get lost easily. It’s a good thing that I know and I had spotted the right people to follow —- the nerds! We followed their lead without them noticing and after a few minutes, we were already in front of SMX. LoL!

I was surprised that the hall was quite empty even though it’s the middle of the day. The first thing that we did was roam around and looked for manga. Unfortunately, there was none. We only found magazines, pirated DVDs and other customized memorabilia. The only booth that had manga was that of Japan Foundation. My little sister decided to stay there while I roam around some more.

The shops that had a wide variety of merchandise truly caught my attention. I bought a nice Harajuku polo from Sugarfree and Blue. I’ll wear it the next time I attend a convention. It was also nice seeing the Gothic and Lolita communities broadening in the country. I also bought a cross pendant and a customized mug.

I didn’t bother taking photos of cosplayers because they didn’t appeal much to me. I did spend time taking photographs of figma and nendroids, though.

Trip to Enchanted Kingdom – OtakonEK 2009 ! ! !

Event : OtakonEK 2009
Date : October 18, 2009
Venue : Enchanted Kingdom

Last year, I said that OtakonEK will be my pilgrimage because Azrael confirmed that this will happen every September. OtakonEK was a bit postponed this year due to typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) [link, viewable by family & friends only], which hit the country a day before its actual date. I also thought that I won’t be able to attend because of my work’s schedule. As if luck was really on my side, I had an acute laryngitis which became my excuse for skipping our shift. Even without a voice, I can still have fun!!! Dada was against it at first but when I explained to him that I have been planning this for the longest, he then allowed me to go. Wheee!!!

Jeiro and Lora went to EK wearing Pirate costumes while Leidi and I were just wearing casual clothes. I planned on donning the Scarlet gown [link], but I realized that it would be too cumbersome and I don’t want to pose for pictures there (yeah, I have issues).

Leidi and I missed both the 10:30AM and 12:30NN shuttles so we had to commute going to Sta.Rosa, Laguna. I was thinking that if something else goes wrong or if we get lost, we might not make it to EK! During those times, I realized that people can either be complete @$$h073S or be very helpful to the needy. Some people took advantage of the situation and charged us too high for fares, while some are very kind to point us the fastest routes and tell us the actual rates.

We arrived in EK around 1:30PM and immediately stashed our bags in the locker area. Leidi was a bit reminiscing because she said that the last time she’s been there was when she was ten. It was time for her to feel the thrills of the rides she missed during her elementary years! LOL!

1) Roller Skater (mini roller coaster) — Leidi wanted to try Dodgem (bump cars) but I told her that it’s too boring so as an appetizer, I took her here. I think she had fun. Hehe~

2) Anchor’s Away (swaying pirate ship) — The line was pretty long and we waited for about 10 minutes before our turn. While standing in line, Leidi felt scared as she heard the screams and wanted to back out. I firmly told her “NO! We are going to take the topmost seats! You see blood everyday [you’re a nurse-to-be!] and you can’t handle this?!” Hehehe~ Of course, people go to EK to experience the thrills and I want nothing less. While the ship was swaying back and forth, Leidi got really scared at tinawag na niya ang lahat ng mga santo! LoL! She screamed “OH MY GOD -TAMA NA – SHET – ANG PUSO KO – LORD – OPERATOR – STOP – AAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!” all in one breath! LoL!

3) Grand Carousel – no lines, I wonder why? LoL!

4) Flying Fiesta (wave swinger) – Leidi said that if she survived Anchor’s Away, she can survive anything! LoL!

5) Wheel of Fate (giant ferris wheel) – it was our time to relax a bit and enjoy the view.

6) Rialto (motion sim theater – feat. Speed Racer) – if my reaction to Sponge Bob was “That was it?!” for Speed Racer it was “What the fn(K”?!”

7) Jungle Log Jam (log flumes) – We didn’t get wet. It was still cold, though.

8) Rio Grande Rapids (river rafting) – We were VEERRRRYYYYYY WET! LoL!

Despite the fact that we arrived late, we still managed to try out eight rides. This is my best record as of late. LoL! The Space Shuttle is undergoing maintenance so Leidi wasn’t able to feel what it’s like being the signature ride of EK. Nonetheless, we’re able to watch the Sky Wizard fireworks display contest. The entry that we liked was #11.

We got home around 12:30MN. Cold and tired, but we had fun. LOL!

OtakonEK 2008 ! ! !

*************

I woke up around 5:38AM and put on black nail polish. Good thing it dried up fast so I was able to finish within an hour.

I left the condo around 7:15AM because Dada was supposed to give me the ROSE installer before I leave. We met up in KFC beside the Ayala-MRT station 15 minutes later. Well, he forgot to bring the installer so we just had some chit-chat. I wasn't sure if he was serious or if he was just teasing me when he said "'wag ka na pumunta sa EK" (don't go to EK anymore) because he was smiling. So I told him that there would be several conditions if I am to do that. I asked him to reimburse the expenses I had so far with the OtakonEK preparation and that we have to go to EK next month. He then said "Sige na nga, umalis ka na lang!" (Alright then, just go!). Hahaha!

We met up with Jeiro and Ten around 9:15AM and we headed to the EK shuttle service. The situation was contrary to what we have expected — there were less than 10 cosplayers waiting. Dada gave me his ATM card sleeve and shades pouch so I can put my money in there. He noticed that my Lolita bag was so cluttered so he snagged it from me and arranged my stuff so that everything would fit inside — yes, he's OC! He also asked me to text him once in a while so he'd be updated as to what's happening. He said he would sulk if I don't! Well, I would be texting him often even if he didn't tell me. ^_^

The shuttle left at 9:30AM and we reached EK around 10:30AM. I was shocked to see a lot of vehicles already parked and what's more, a lot of cosplayers are already dressed up! In short, WE ARE SO LATE!!! I forgot the fact that about 90% of the cosplay community is composed of wealthy kids so they have their own cars and personal assistants. LOL!

Jeiro and I changed into our cosplay clothes in the ladies room outside the park because the marshals wouldn't let us in if we're not dressed up. What shocked me more was that there's this teenage girl cosplayer who, probably was in much of a hurry and couldn't wait until one of the cubicles became available, undressed herself in a vacant portion of the ladies room! The door of the CR was open and there's a HUGE mirror in front so she's a free game to those nose-bleeding guys standing outside. OMG! It was hilarious!

After getting lockers, we started strolling inside the park. There were plenty of people who asked us to take photos with them and we gladly agreed. Some kids got scared of me, though. It's probably because they see me as a huge walking-and-talking doll with a Sharingan! There's this one cute Chinese baby who got curious and kept on staring at me. I wanted to take a photo of him with me but I got shy asking his mom. Besides, he was too delicate that I got anxious because I might hurt him. I'm really not good with kids… A lot of people would also pass by and murmur "Oh my! She's got red eyes!" Jeiro and Ten laughed when I told them that I get that comment a lot when I wear these contact lenses.

We entered Eldar's Tent and I got to see Jaja. I got the Victoria headdress from her and also bought another annulet to complete my Lolita ensemble. There were a lot more items I wanted to buy from her but I couldn't decide that time! Shucks!

We were not able to eat while inside EK. The restaurants were jam-packed with normal people, cosplayers, and other patrons. So we decided to just have a drink and rest a bit before we continue strolling around.

We didn't join the cosplay competition because I don't want to feel the pressure and I wanted to go around the park as much as we can. I also didn't have time to take photos of other cosplayers. They paraded around the park, according to one of the employees, and they asked us why we didn't join. I told her "Namamasyal lang po kami tsaka ine-enjoy yung rides. Hindi po kami kasali dun." (We're just strolling around and enjoying the rides. We're not part of that.) Anyway, I did indicate on the online pre-registration that I will not join the contest.

While occasionally posing for photo-ops and all, we also tried some rides and tested the "KAPIT" POWER of our blond wigs!

STAGE 1 : Roller Skater *CLEARED!!!*
STAGE 2 : Anchor's Away! *CLEARED!!!*
STAGE 3 : Flying Fiesta *CLEARED!!!*
STAGE 4 : Wheel of Fate *CLEARED!!!*
Bonus Stage : Grand Carousel *CLEARED!!!*
STAGE 5 : Up! Up and Away! *CLEARED!!!*
STAGE 6 : Rio Grande *CLEARED!!!*
Hidden Challenge : Space Shuttle *NOT ENOUGH POINTS!!!*

The last ride we took was the Rio Grande and that's where I got drenched up to my undies. The Rio Grande and Wheel of Fate photographers took about 4-6 shots with me in it and and I liked them all but it was too bad they do not sell soft copies anymore. It would be too expensive if I buy all of them! Hah! Nevermind . . .

On the way to the locker room, I saw my crush but since I was not prim and proper after the Rio Grande ride, I got too shy to ask a photo with him. Instead, I just said "Hi!" and then left. *sigh* I wish I can see him on the next conventions. *dreams on* I also saw a lot of my cosplay friends and online buddies. I just said "hi!" to them too. We were in so much of a hurry to change our clothes because we were soaking wet!

We wanted to try the Space Shuttle but there was no time left too. *sob*

I guess it was also okay to leave early since we're not cramming and there's no competition in the dressing areas and transpo.

The shuttle left at 6PM and we arrived in Glorietta after 30 minutes! We had dinner in KFC before going home.

I reached our house around 9PM and everyone was already asleep. I tried editing some photos while talking to Dada via the YM phone. *sigh*

Well, there it goes. One month of waiting for this event and it's over just like that. Hah! Ang bilis! I had loads of fun though. I hope there would be another event like this next year!

Happenings this 4th Week of September 2008 . . .

********************************

Sept.22 (Mon)

I wasn't able to go home because of the split-off so Dada and I just spent some time together before we went to work. I requested him to go with me on OtakonEK but he said he already traded his day-off with his officemate. Booo~~~

Anyway, Jeiro will be joining me and we'll both be wearing blond wigs! Weeeeeeeeee~~~~

********************************

Sept.23 (Tue)

I finally got the package from Rui and I like both the earrings and the annulet. Since they were delivered late, I didn't have time to put them on and take photos. I also ordered a bonnet from Jaja but I requested her not to have it shipped anymore because it might not arrive on time. I'll just get it from her on the event day itself.

********************************

Sept.24 (Wed)

I used that hype to buy make-up for the cosplay and do a test-run on my

accessories. The knot of the choker I bought got detached because I pulled it too hard and it was just glued, not sown. Nonetheless, I was able to remedy it so it was okay and it still looked good on me. The cross earrings are wonderful, although they are being blocked by my wig so they are not noticeable on most of the shots I took. After a couple of weeks, I wore my Sharingan again and I am not sure if it looks good with my Lolita ensemble or not. It looks good without the wig because I have the black-red-white konbi. Bahala na si Batman on the event day!

********************************

 Sept.27 (Sat)

I was working but all I could think about was OtakonEK! I guess it helped reducing the stress I got from stupid customers. I really hate our shift. Time passes by so slowly here.

I had a little chit-chat with Dada and I told him that we need to cancel our breakfast date because I will be going home after my shift and prepare a couple of things for tomorrow. Instead, we had a dinner date in KFC then we went to ShopWise to look for a Lolita-ish bag. One thing I noticed about him is that he criticizes a lot of things when we go shopping, but he really has taste and he knows what looks good and what doesn't. This is like the 3rd or 4th time he went shopping with me and he gets to pick up the item I need and I end up liking it!

Jeiro and I are also making plans for tomorrow. I read Azrael's post and he said there are *shiiiiin* 384 *shiiiiin* registered cosplayers who're going to OtakonEK!!! OMG!!! I told her that I'm anxious to ride the shuttle in Glorietta because assuming all or even just half of those participants (with their chaperons) will be riding the 9:30AM shuttle, not everyone will be accommodated.

********************************

 Sept.28 (Sun)

Uhm, I'll post this one separately.

*sings* Let's go to E.K.~~ Let's go to OtakonEK~!!!

Happenings this 2nd Week of September 2008 . . .

Monday

Dada and I were supposed to spend quality time again but he said he was feeling sick so we had to cancel it. I was also thinking that we both needed to rest some more and it's okay to just have a chit-chat via YM. I didn't go to Hester's appointment as well and I just told her that I have a family reunion to attend to.

I was planning on going back to the condo around 6pm but it was raining cats and dogs so I decided to stay home and continue playing Wonderland Online. Too bad, the power went out around 7pm so I just decided to sleep. I woke up around 11:45pm and the power's back. Dada said he just got to the office due to the heavy traffic in the South Super Highway. I slept again around 3am and the rain was still pouring.

********************************************

Tuesday

This has got to be one of the busiest days in my life!!!

I got up around 5am to get ready for the OtakonEK press conference. It's no longer raining and I saw that as a good sign. I kept thinking it's gonna be a good day.

After dodging security guards in malls, establishments and in the MRT stations (because I was carrying my katana  and my wakizashi), I reached the Somerset Millennium at exactly 10am. We, the invited cosplayers, were just sitting in the waiting area 'til 11am. I don't know any of them so I didn't bother mingling at first. When I got dressed, they called me "Shakugan no Shana" and I smiled as I told 'em that I am not Shana. A lot of people really mistake me for that character because her get-up is uncannily similar to my portrayal of Wrath.

Around 12pm, we were called to introduce ourselves and the characters we're portraying. It's nerve-racking because we're in front of a different crowd – a room full of executives and non-otaku. Most of them were awed by our costumes so I guess it's okay. There were only 7 cosplayers so the attention we got boosted my ego! I was so happy when they picked me to have photos taken with them. Hehehee~

After the photo-op, the other cosplayers and I had a little chit-chat and they gave me tips on how to make props and where to buy cheap platform boots. They also made me laugh when they mocked and said that most cosplayers use Death Note characters as a starter kit in entering the world of cosplay! Hahaha!

The organizers gave us three Enchanted Kingdom regular day tickets (expiry date is March 2009) each as a gift for attending the event today and this excludes the free passes we'll get on the OtakonEK itself. Aside from that, we might have a photoshoot in EK next week! OMG! It's good to be active in cosplays again!!!

Pics from the conference : [link]

I wasn't able to sleep due to the excitement. I was lying in my bed the whole time, just reminiscing while playing Tales of the World in my PSP.

I got dressed again around 7pm and met up with Dada around 7:45pm to have dinner. I told him what happened in the conference and there were instances where we'd just laugh about something really silly. We had dinner in KFC and, coincidentally, Dan (my college buddy and crush) was there. They finally got the chance to meet each other and I got really nervous! I didn't know how to react at first – surprised and speechless is meeh! Dada knows I had a crush on Dan for so long so I didn't know if he'd begin throwing questions or whatever. Same goes for Dan. Hahah! It was an awkward situation! Anyway, Dan said he just got back from Hong Kong and that he has a gift for me. I told him I'd just get it some other time. When Dan left, Dada told me that Dan stared at him in a manner that made him feel uncomfortable. I told him, "No, he's NOT gay!!!" then he laughed at me!

********************************************

Wednesday

Roy paid the PSP repairs and also gave me DVD's containing other games.

I didn't bother staying in the office for the team party with our Operations Manager. I need to edit photos, check my webbies and get MORE SLEEP.

I got home around 9am and I was surprised to see tita cleaning the house. She said mom asked her to stay again and help with the household while she plans on doing business. This will serve as a "revenge" to my dad, they say. Well, I let them do what they want. They're grown-ups and I don't like to argue anymore. Time will come when they need to repent for their wrong-doings anyway.

I was able to sleep a bit, but the excitement kept me awake for the most part of the day. *sigh*

********************************************

Thursday

I went back to Fairview the following morning after work to continue my VL. My head was throbbing and I could barely open my eyes. I had to put my hood on so that I won't feel dizzy while walking. Is this migraine? I have no idea. Dada called me a few minutes after I got home and he warned me about the bad weather that's coming tomorrow. I told him I'd be careful. ^__^

I tried getting as much sleep as I can but too much noise and light surrounding me prevented that from happening. My headache became a lot worse.

I only got about two hours of sleep then I was awake for 3-4 hours straight. My bedroom's on the 2nd floor of the house while my PC is in the living room. I think the problem with me when I'm home is that I cannot get away from my computer. OMG! I LOVE MY COMPUTER! It's my "other" bestfriend. I was botting my characters in Wonderland Online while trying to rest so maybe my subconsciousness or whatever you call it worries about if my bots will die so I kept waking up abruptly and checked on their status. I stacked up some pots so they'd go on for hours without dying so I was able to sleep from 8pm-11:45pm. When I woke up, they all gained a level and were able to collect many items. I chatted with Dada and Faye for a while but my headache was so severe that I had to sleep again.

********************************************

Friday

I slept around 4am. I woke up around 6:30am, when so much noise began circulating around the household. Dada said he'd go to the hospital because Tita Star's been confined again – maybe due to her high BP. I wonder if Dada will get enough sleep too… I hope he does. He still has work later like I do.

Kuya Azrael's been updating us on the status of the OtakonEK. He said my Wrath costume's been preregistered already. I told him that I need to change the character I will be cosplaying on the event because the guards will simply not allow me to bring my swords inside the Enchanted Kingdom. He said I have until September 25 to change my entry. I am not sure if I will recycle my Irene (B.J.D.) costume or produce another one.

I slept again around 10am until 1pm. I continued botting until I had my main character reach Lvl25. One more level and she can wear the new equips I got for her. I placed the couch in front of my PC and I used it to replace the other chair I was using. This way, I was able to lie down and listen to Yahoo Music while trying to get more sleep. I took a nap from 2pm-3pm. Then I was able to sleep again from 5:30-6:45pm.

********************************************

Saturday

After shift, my teammates (Poi, Lara, Aika, Tin) and I went to Heaven 'n Eggs and had breakfast. The food's nice but it's costly. I'd rather eat in Pizza Hut. Anyways, just for experience. Haha! We had some pics taken and we also discussed some issues going on within our team. I've never had this much gossip since I was in training with DELL!

I slept most of the day hoping that my severe headache will stop but it didn't. I think I need more rest after today's shift. I was hoping to get the laundry done but I got too lazy and my head still hurts so bad when I try to move. I got about 8 hours of sleep today but that's not enough to cope with the 4 hectic days I had.

By 10pm, the headache subsided a bit and I can move my head with only minimal pain.

********************************************

Sunday

Dada and I watched "Hellboy II : The Golden Army" >>> full description [here]

I got home around 10PM and I saw Lola sleeping on the couch. It turned out that she and my aunts were waiting for me earlier that day and was hoping I'd treat them pizza. Aww too bad, I already ordered Cheezy-Pops™ the other day and I no longer have budget for another pizza party.

After 2 weeks, I got to sleep again in my messy room. I missed Thuggles, my teddy bear! I haven't had time to hug him since I had Xu Ling (yes, that's the name of my Panda stuffed toy).

(Aftermath) Ozine Fest 2008 & e-Games Domination II

Ozine Fest 2008

(April 5, 2008) I attended this convention because Faye requested so, because she said we'll be meeting a new Hikarian member. Unfortunately, we did not see her.

I was wearing  my Wrath costume for costripping only but I wasn't able to fix my hair because I was in a hurry. My real hair was showing on most of the photos. Aside from that, I also looked groggy. I didn't have time to put make-up on.

Some people mistook me for Shana (Shakugan no Shana 2). Hahaha! I honestly dunno this animé so when I saw her photo, I was shocked.

The venue was so small to acommodate all people who attended the event. Most of the time, I was out the Megatrade Hall because it was so congested inside. There were a lot of cosplayers loitering around the 5th floor of SM Megamall. Hahaha!

I met some new and old buddies, thanks to Faye. Some of them thought I am still a teenager. Hiihiii~~

I also won a T-shirt from the Cosplay.Ph booth. It has the "Prepare to get PWNED!" print on it. So cool! Hahahaaaaa!

Thanks to Faye for treating me out for lunch. hehehee~
Thanks to Roy for carrying my stuff and taking some pics.
Thanks to Paul-niichan for letting me stash my stuff in your booth!
Thanks to Bryan for the tips on Chain Of Memories.

===================================
e-Games Dominaton II

(April 6, 2008) When I woke up, my body felt so heavy and I could barely move. It took me 2 hours to get prepared for this event. I planned on going to SMX early so I could get freebies, but my body wouldn't let me. Even putting my socks on became a major pain.

I guess I got sick because of yesterday's event. Megatrade was crowded, it was too hot there and when we got out of the hall, it got too cold. So the changes in temperature might have triggered it. My arms, legs and back were also painful… Maybe it was because I was either crouching or standing up most of the time, and that I was carrying two heavy katana all the time.

Even though I know that I have a fever, I still mustered my strength because it's the launch of CABAL Online (the new MMORPG my boyfriend and I are playing), and that this is the only time we can sign-up for the closed-beta. IT'S NOW OR NEVER!!!

My boyfriend and I came late in SMX. After buying tickets, we immediately signed up and got our CB accounts (hooray!) and then we also signed up for the CABAL-freeplay.

The character that Dada (my boyfriend) tried out was a Force Blader, and the PC he was playing at was tied to the main projector of the CABAL booth. Fort Ruina (one of the in-game maps) has a catchy background music so when Dada entered there, the speakers went booming and a lot of people came in to have a peek at the CABAL-Ph Booth.

We stayed a bit longer and watched the band performance and cosplay. I forgot the name of the girl-band that was there … "Pacha" was it? They were a bunch of sexy girls in sexy outfits that made each and every guy's head turn. It was really fun watching the reaction of the selected guys on stage when the girls did the lap dance on them. LOL!

I got mad at my boyfriend because I thought he said that he would replace CABAL-Ph with those girls… Whereas it was the other way around pala. He said he'd rather play Cabal. LOL.

After that, my boyfriend and I went to Mall of Asia and watched Semi-Pro (starring Will Ferrell). I was supposed to give him the T-shirt I won yesterday since it was too big for me, but I ended up using it because I was really sweating. XD

I got home around 10:30 PM and immediately went to bed.

Dadaaaaaa!! Thanks for taking care of me. Hahaha! I know, I act like a baby. I'll give you chocolates on our 4th anniversary as payment, don't worry.

===================================

This is Ascedia, my Wizard on the CABAL-US client. I'm also gonna make a wizard in CABAL-Ph. Weeee!!!

===================================

Right now, I still have a fever so I don't think I'd be able to go to work… Gasp! Back to bed!
