Fragments of Memories . . .

A month has passed since my old PC died so I seldom went online. It was frustrating because a lot of things happened and I can barely remember them now. Only fragments of memories remain within — awaiting salvation. LoL!

Meiko's Pink Birthday~

Claribelle and I celebrated our birthdays together with the rest of the barkada. As usual, I am the only one in a dress and they were wearing jeans! Toni showed us a restaurant showcasing all sorts of Coca-cola memorabilia, which has been aptly named The Real Thing Diner. Their main color is red with a splash of white in between. The shelves beside the main entrance are donned with mugs, stuffed toys, bottles, and other trinkets. Another shelf is located atop the windowpane which is decorated with soda cans of varying designs. There is also a wide-screen TV playing Coke commercials dating back from the 80’s! How’s the food? Well, definitely not the best among the lot but the taste is just right. Another cool thing is that this is the one-and-only restaurant serving Royal True-Orange floats (AFAIK)! I felt so bad that I left Epiphany at home (darn rain)!!!

Sushi-Ya (Late Night Dinner 11) . . .

☺ california maki + tamago sushi + kakiage ☺

Today is Dada’s birthday so he asked me to pick a place where we can have din-din. It’s his treat and he agreed that we can go fancy tonight. Some of the choices I had were Saisaki and Okuya. Unfortunately, Saisaki’s on the far end of SM Megamall and Okuya turned out to be a stall in the food court (Dada dislikes crowded areas). The only other choice I could think of was Sushi-Ya. Their service is good and the prices are affordable.

Last time I stepped foot in Sushi-Ya was seven years ago.  This is the first ever Japanese restaurant I went to but today is only my second time dining in. Why? Let’s just say that there are some events in the past that are best untold. ☻

Anyway…

☻ tonkatsu curry ☻

We ordered California Maki, Tamago Sushi, Tonkatsu Curry and Kakiage. They all look delicious but I guess we expected too much. I liked the California Maki and the Tamago Sushi. The curry, on the other hand,  is yummy but there’s so much going on so I only had a few bites and I got fed up already. The kakiage is very bland. Dada said it’s like 80% potato and only 20% for the other vegetables. It’s much worse than the one in Teriyaki Boy.

We finished our meals in less than 20 minutes. We didn’t enjoy the food that much so I don’t think there will be a reason for us to return here.

We had fun taking pictures, though. ☻

28th birthday ~ ~ ~

May 26, 2010 … It was my first time spending my birthday in the office. I was quite irritated because I don't like working during special occasions but there's nothing much I can do about it this year. Anyway, as a courtesy, I treated my colleagues with two trays of spaghetti and a full-sized chocolate cake from Goldilocks. It cost me more or less P1k but it was OK and I think I became a bit at ease with them.

Dada and I were not able to go out because his work got in the way. I felt really bad. We even had an argument about it. Tsk! Well, he promised to make up for it so I let it pass.

Anyway (again)

May 27, 2010 … It was my day off the following morning so mom, my siblings and I went to SM North and celebrated there.

We had lunch in our favorite family restaurant, Tokyo Café. I ordered my favorite Demi Hamburg and Milk Oreo; Mom had her usual Seafood Salad; Leidi also ordered a Demi Hamburg and Caramel Espresso; while Popay had the Loco Moco and Milk Oreo too. The bill only cost me P1.1K so it was good enough. We need to be fancy sometimes. Maybe next time, I'd take them to Saisaki.

Popay and ShrekCheeeeeee~Hugzzzzz~

Prior to lunch, we grabbed tickets for Shrek : Forever After (Digital 3D) and they had their photos taken with a Shrek mascot. I was feeling a bit lazy so I didn't bother having my photo taken (also, I don't like entrusting people to take photographs of me using my camera).

May 28, 2010 … It was time for me to pay this month's bills. I also bought toiletries amd kikay make-up. By the end of the day, I've used up all my earnings for this cutoff. It was as if there's bad luck following me, my BPI ATM card got voided too so I can neither pay my BPI-EDGE credit card nor get money from my Direct Save-Up account. Jeez! I gotta control my expenses!

Well…. It's been a fun birthday week… Not the happiest birthday I had but it was still good.. and hell NO I'm not ashamed to say my age —– coz I don't look like a 28-year old anyway. Har har har!

MY BIRTHDAY 2009 . . .

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Mom, my siblings and I went to Splash Mountain (Los Baños, Laguna) to celebrate my birthday.

It was my second time in that resort (the first was when my roommates in Project8 requested me to join them – back in 2002).

The ambiance of the resort was not at par with 88 Spa and there were only two pools available at the time of our arrival (4 during night time). The water was kinda dirty and all of us felt really itchy after the trip.

The hotel was nice, though. The beds were soft, the lights and curtains set the mood, the toilet is cozy and clean, and the airconditioning is okay.

While we were swimming, some Chinese guy approached me and introduced himself. He said his name’s Brandon and he lives in Makati. We had a little chit-chat but I had to cut the conversation because my siblings wanted me to teach them how to float. Haha!

I think I shelled out P6k or more for the entire trip. I don’t mind, though. This is the first time that I was able to treat my family out myself and it’s a “Thanks” to my mom for taking care of my siblings. Besides, they helped me stash all my stuff out from my condo room. 😀

BIRTHDAY AFTERMATH

Dada and I had a date right after our Laguna trip.

We watched “Night at the Museum : Battle of the Smithsonians” then had dinner in Greenwich. Dada also tried playing Guitar Heroes. He flunked the first time around but his comeback was great! OMG I’M SOOOO IN LOVE~ LOL!

I was supposed to go to work by 7:30PM but my head was throbbing and I felt so sleepy. I even dozed off while we were eating!

Dada suggested that we check-in in a hotel and sleep for a couple of hours so I can recuperate and be able to work undertime. Dada paid the accommodation and gave me 500 bucks as extra money. I told him that I’ll give it back once my paycheck arrives.

Dada broke our pinky swear so I will give his punishment on our next date. LOL! Yey~

Me ish won!
