Three Quarters of Doom . . .

This year has been the most difficult because life had been throwing stones at me. Everyday is like Doom’s Day. I am actually surprised that my sanity is intact despite all these.

People tell me that this is my karma for trolling. I, however, don’t think of it that way. Karma happens in another life. Hey, I’m far from dead!

The way I see it: my Yin-Yang was acting up… or maybe some psychotic paranormal being or a retard with super powers became bored and toyed with me.

Who knows?

If only we could . . .

It’s sad when the people you know become the people you knew; when you walk past someone like they were never part of your life; how you used to be able to talk to them for hours and now you barely look at them. It is sad how time changes EVERYTHING.

Despite everything, I still like you and you will always be my friend — I don’t know if my feelings will ever change. I am grateful to you for vilifying all I love and sanctifying all I hate. Perhaps in the next lifetime, we’ll be together.

Fragments of Memories . . .

A month has passed since my old PC died so I seldom went online. It was frustrating because a lot of things happened and I can barely remember them now. Only fragments of memories remain within — awaiting salvation. LoL!

Meiko's Pink Birthday~

Claribelle and I celebrated our birthdays together with the rest of the barkada. As usual, I am the only one in a dress and they were wearing jeans! Toni showed us a restaurant showcasing all sorts of Coca-cola memorabilia, which has been aptly named The Real Thing Diner. Their main color is red with a splash of white in between. The shelves beside the main entrance are donned with mugs, stuffed toys, bottles, and other trinkets. Another shelf is located atop the windowpane which is decorated with soda cans of varying designs. There is also a wide-screen TV playing Coke commercials dating back from the 80’s! How’s the food? Well, definitely not the best among the lot but the taste is just right. Another cool thing is that this is the one-and-only restaurant serving Royal True-Orange floats (AFAIK)! I felt so bad that I left Epiphany at home (darn rain)!!!

5th TAGCOM (Toys & Hobbies Convention) ! ! !

Events photography sure isn’t simple. This is definitely not my forte. Aside from the fact that I lack the proper tools (and skills), I also had to constantly request for the cosplayers to pose and then compete with other photographers in getting the shots I wanted. Unfortunately, I was also wearing wedges so I couldn’t walk too much.

Lookie! Epiphany has a tissue wrapped on the built-in flash. LoL! Lawrence said tissues are used as "diffusers" and I was amazed because it did work wonders. LoL!

Anyway, it was still nice seeing my cosplay and my photographer friends. Lawrence gave me useful tips and Erving lent me his camera accessories. Jeiro and Lora also attended the event and I was impressed on how intricate their costumes were. I was kinda surprised too that they still recognized me despite the fact that I’ve gained much weight and I have bangs. LoL!

Some of the cosplayers who attended the 5th TAGCOM.

I only took shots of the cosplayers that caught my attention and there’s just a few of them (some are not included here). I also got disappointed with the quality of the photos I was producing — maybe because I wasn’t putting my heart into it.

Steady ... steady ... steady ... AAAAAAAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!!

I just roamed around the convention area to ease my frustrations — I felt a bit better but my feet were starting to burn!

The convention area was so small yet it's jam-packed with cosplayers, hobbyists, otaku and their chaperons.

I was eying on a Lolita shop near the stage but I got irritated when I found out how poorly-made the products were. Those people have even sewn ruffles on the edges of the cheap umbrellas to imitate parasols. Blergh!

The booth that caught my interest was The Keybie Café. It had numerous chibi renditions of animé characters. I bought four cellphone-chains which were P50 a piece.

The Keybie Café. The lady there was kind enough and she allowed me to take photos of her booth.

Jeiro, Lora, Lawrence and I held a mini-photoshoot right after the catwalk. We found a nice spot just a few meters away from Marks & Spencer and there was a wall with glowing yellow-green lights.

Lora as the "Lunatic Queen" and Jeiro as "Elisabeth" (Pullip dolls)

The aura suddenly changed when we had the entire space for ourselves. I was able to produce decent photographs with the help of Lawrence and the lights. We then decided to hold a more formal photoshoot soon. Tee-hee~

Heaven & Eggs ☜(⌒▽⌒)☞ [ 2 ]

It is Chili‘s Big Mouth Burger Day! My friends and I went to Greenbelt hoping we could grab a bite but we were sooooo unfortunate as there were plenty of people lined up outside the restaurant. Most of them have already booked prior to the event and the wait time reached about an hour and a half.

We decided to cancel our original plan and just head off to one of our favorite restaurants Heaven & Eggs.

Their service that night was much better than our previous experiences and I think that’s because the manager (or whatever you call him) was there to watch over.

I ordered their Korean Beef Stew but it’s quite tart so I wasn’t able to consume everything. I guess I really have no liking for Korean food other than those from 88 Spa.

Anyway, their presentation is still remarkable and the Manila Spareribs 1965 is still one of their best dishes.  ☜(⌒▽⌒)☞
